Frequently Asked Questions

What physiotherapy services do you offer at The Physio Clinic Tuncurry?

We provide a comprehensive range of physiotherapy services, including injury rehabilitation, sports physiotherapy, post-operative recovery, chronic pain management, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and exercise therapy. Our clinics are fully equipped with specialised treatment rooms, Pilates studios, gymnasiums, and rehabilitation facilities to support evidence-based and personalised care.

Will I see the same physiotherapist at each appointment?

Yes. We pride ourselves on providing consistent, hands-on care. Wherever possible, you’ll see the same physiotherapist throughout your treatment journey, allowing for better continuity of care, clearer progress tracking, and a more personalised rehabilitation experience.

Do I need to see my doctor first for a GP referral?

Most patients can go straight to their Physiotherapist for treatment. Physiotherapists are considered primary contact practitioners and here at The Physio Clinic Great Lakes we have good relationships with local doctors who we can contact directly if necessary. Treatment of injured workers requires a referral.

Can I be treated under Medicare?

There is a system within Medicare that provides limited treatment at your doctor’s discretion. Not everyone qualifies for treatment under this program. It would be best to check with your GP or check with us first.

Can Physiotherapists request x-rays?

Yes, Physiotherapists can write requests for x-rays. If you have x-rays or other scan results, make sure you bring them along with you to your consultation.

Do I have to book in advance?

Yes, it is best to phone for an appointment. We would normally be able to arrange an appointment within 24-48 hours. We also now offer online bookings – click here to book online.

When are you open?

The Physio Clinic Great Lakes is open Monday – Thursday from 8:00am to 5:30pm and Friday from 8:00am to 1:30pm.

What makes The Physio Clinic Tuncurry different from other physiotherapy clinics?
